Original Youth Poetry & Art

Working closely with incarcerated youth to help them express themselves so that they can explore their creative sides has produced a wide variety of empowering poetry. These young men have never before been given the opportunity to express themselves in this manner. Surpressed feelings and burried experiences are explored with a rawness and honesty that speaks to the difficult lives these kids have lived. Take a moment to read the following original poetry. In addition to numerous original works of poetry from the kids many have also drawn original pieces of art. Below are a few drawings from some of the kids. We will update this section as the kids produce more art during their weekly sessions.
