About
CreakyToe.com was a blog initially dedicated to exploring the MFA landscape and sharing perspectives of the literary world, but not anymore. The author, Andrew Smyth, decided to abandon the blog, but now he’s back. His need to expose himself in front of the world and create a mighty online following was too great. Once temptation had withdrawn its fangs, he slowly shambled towards the nearest computer and began anew. Topics such as writing, social justice, Wordpress, social media etc. were explored and found to be sufficiently fertile. He only hopes that you will leave lots of comments and tell your friends about his blog, if you feel he’s worthy of such fanfare.
The benefits of reading this blog are numerous:
- Have a laugh at the expense of a hardened veteran. Opinions are like…and he’s got plenty.
- Seriously, learn from a Wordpress guy, about Wordpress and blogging. Andrew’s been blogging since April of 2006, and is a self-taught web designer going back to early 2005.
- He owns three Akitas and has been married since 2005. Dogs and marriage are, after all, enough to qualify anyone, right?
- Find honest information about MFA programs. Wait, this benefit is an old one, but worth considering.
- Gain valuable insight by listening to audio podcasts with authors, teachers, admissions counselors and other people in the literary world. Still a possibility.
Who Is Andrew Smyth:
I recently graduated with a creative writing degree from Pitzer College (incredible school by the way) at the tender age of 34. I returned to school in 2008 with renewed motivation to improve my writing, and in the process figured out I was serious about writing. This journey brought me to a place where I saw an MFA in my future, and reinvigorated the writing bug buried deep inside. Now that I have given you a peek into my heart and soul I hope you are happy.
